Q: Can anyone attend, even if we don’t have a classic or custom car?
A: Yes. We want all car enthusiasts to feel welcome. All registered makes and models may participate.
Q: Is parking at the host hotel secure?
A: Yep. We’ll keep an eye on ‘em.
Q: Can we sponsor Black Hills Overdrive?
A: Please Please Please.
Q: What’s the weather like in June?
A: Beautiful. We occasionally get rain but for the most part it’s sunny and mid-70s to 80s.
Q: How many attended last year?
A: 200 cars registered in 2007
Q: What does the money for registration go toward?
A: Proceeds, should there be any (by the Grace of God), go toward promoting the following year’s Overdrive events. The Black Hills Overdrive has no paid employees, and is operated by a volunteer committee of Black Hills Badlands & Lakes Association.
Q: Can children attend for free?
A: Children under 6 years old are free; however, they will not receive a free t-shirt or breakfast at Mount Rushmore unless they have a companion pass. The $15 companion pass pays for those expenses. You can charge your kids $20 and get some gas money for the trip.
Q: What is the interstate speed limit in South Dakota?
A: If you have to ask, expect a ticket.
Q: What happens in the case of bad weather?
A: A fair question, but let’s be optimistic: We had perfect weather (sunshine and 80 degrees) in 2007. The host hotel is very close to a public parking garage should we have any precipitation.
